Selo Sulevkent
Description
The village of Sulevkent is a well-known center of pottery. Ceramics of Sulevkent is functional, its decor is very sparse, but this is precisely its main aesthetic value. The traditional basis of painting is 5-shaped motifs, wavy and straight lines, curls, strokes in the form of commas. The painting on all Sulevkent jugs is located in a belt and is a series of thin lines framed along the edges by wider stripes. A simple ornament is applied over such a linear belt. The pattern on the product is first applied with a brush, and then cut with a special tool on wet clay.
