Description
Kubachi is one of the most interesting villages in Dagestan, now known not only in Russia, but throughout the world for the work of its master jewelers. In the 19th - early 20th centuries, Kubachi became famous for the artistic decoration of weapons and the manufacture of jewelry. The ancient proprietary Kubachi metal notching techniques, which were used to inlay with gold, silver, copper, and brass, have become the subject of study by historians and ethnographers.
