Description
The ancient lighthouse is located on the remains of the northern wall of the Derbent fortress on the lands of Shahristan, that is, the lower city. The entrance to the lighthouse tower is located on the territory between several restaurants in the Stalsky Park and is closed to visitors. But you can climb a piece of the city wall in this place. From the reverse side of the fortress wall, you can approach the lighthouse through the Nizami park. Today, the Derbent Lighthouse is the southernmost lighthouse in Russia. Its height is 18.5 meters. We also note that the Derbent lighthouse is on the list of protected monuments and is included in the UNESCO list. Of the 26 lighthouses operating on the Caspian Sea, Derbent is the most powerful and the only architectural and historical monument.
