Description
Coastal natural complex "Papas". Lake Adzhi, or, as it is also called, Papas, is located in the southern part of the Dagestan coast of the Caspian Sea, on the border of the Kayakent and Derbent regions. On the territory of Lake Aji-Papas, the existence of endangered species of animals is supported, including such as the Mediterranean tortoise, white-eyed duck, and white-headed duck. More than 200 thousand birds wintered here. Dalmatian pelicans, cormorants and little bustards fly here from Europe. Since 2020, flamingos have begun to stop at the lake.
