Description

The museum is dedicated to the world famous writer, national poet of Dagestan Rasul Gamzatov. It was opened in the poet's office in the historical building of the Writers' Union of Dagestan, which was built before the Revolution. The museum contains more than 300 unique photographs of the poet, in which Rasul Gamzatov is captured in different periods of his life, from a young age to the time he achieved worldwide fame and fame: family archive, photos with colleagues, friends, prominent statesmen and public figures of the country and the world, figures of culture and art of the USSR and foreign countries, including legendary world leaders: Fidel Castro, Ernesto Che Guevara, Indira Gandhi and many others. A separate showcase is dedicated to awards, prizes and honorary titles of the poet. Visitors will see the personal belongings of Rasul Gamzatov. Among them are his inkwell and typewriter, manuscripts, books by Gamzatov in his native Avar language and translated into the languages of different peoples of the world. The exposition also displays personal belongings and photographs of the founders of modern Dagestan literature - Gamzat Tsadasa, Suleiman Stalsky, Abutalib Gafurov, Effendi Kapiyev. From the photographs collected here, one can study the history of the Writers' Union of Dagestan, a long way traveled by the writers' organization of the republic over the 85 years of its existence.
