Mount Tarki-Tau - got its name from one of the oldest auls of Dagestan - Tarki. The observation deck on Mount Tarki-Tau is one of the first places where Makhachkala residents recommend that guests of their city go. Tarki-Tau offers a magnificent panorama of the Gimry Range and the top of the Salatau Range, as well as a view of the Ak-Gel Lake, the endless expanse of the Caspian Sea and the city quarters. Locals often come here to relax, go for walks, picnics and jogs, play sports or just enjoy the surrounding beauty of nature. You can get to the observation deck on the slope of Tarki-Tau by car along the highway, and if you wish, you can even climb on foot.
