Skala Kavaler-Batareya

Description

The Cavalier-Battery rock, which used to be called Tamerlane-rock, is one of the visiting cards of Buynaksk. On it stood the tent of the conqueror. From here he sent punitive expeditions to the mountains of Dagestan. And after his departure, a small village was formed. From here you have a panoramic view of the surroundings. Mikhail Lermontov also climbed here, being in Temir-Khan-Shura in 1840. At the base of the rock, you can still see a picture of primitive artists - a hunting scene is carved on a stone wall: a herd of deer is running away from a hunter. The hunter himself, unfortunately, can no longer be seen, he has been erased by time: the drawings date back to the end of the 2nd - the beginning of the 1st millennium BC. e.
