A mass race in the mountainous area "Dagestan Wild Trail" took place in Dagestan on March 18-19. It was attended by more than 2000 guests from various regions of Russia. The athletes had to go four different distances: 125 km, 65 km, 35 km, 15 km. The routes were laid through picturesque gorges, peaks and plateaus with old villages. The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Folk Arts and Crafts of the RD with the support of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the RD. The main objectives of the race: popularization of a healthy lifestyle, as well as the development of sports tourism on the territory of the republic. The final stage of the race was held today and marked the opening of the tourist season of 2023. Closer to the middle of the day, the participants of the race finished one after another in the village of Shamilkala, Untsukul district, where lunch was waiting for them, and the first three athletes from each group who crossed the finish line received awards. The finishers were honored by Emin Merdanov, Minister of Tourism and NHP of the RD, Sazhid Sazhidov, Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the RD, Nizam Khalilov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the RD, Isa Nurmagomedov, Head of the Untsukul district, Nurmagomed Zadiev, head of the Khunzakh district. Emin Merdanov, Minister of Tourism and NHP of the Republic of Dagestan, addressed the participants of the race and guests of the event: "Dagestan Wild Trail is already becoming a good tradition for our region. Every year the number of participants increases. I hope that by participating in this race, in addition to showing your athletic capabilities, you also have the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful mountains." At the award ceremony, the winners of the race were awarded certificates, memorable gifts and souvenirs. An entertaining cultural program was organized for all participants and guests of the event by the Ministry of Tourism and NHP RD, farmsteads, exhibitions and fairs of Dagestan masters of folk crafts and souvenirs, interactive playgrounds for children were deployed.
