Preobrazhenskaya krepost'
Description
The Transfiguration Fortress is a building dating back to the end of the 19th century. Laid down at the direction of Field Marshal A.I. Baryatinsky in order to block the only road. The place was not chosen very well: because of the difficult climate, the fortress was moved down the valley, closer to the iron bridge. After the October Revolution of 1917, the fortress was abandoned. To date, two of the three fortress towers have remained, and the wall covering the gorge has also been well preserved.
