Plato Zasypayushchikh Ozer

Description

The largest of the lakes of this plateau is Khalahel, as local shepherds call it, it stretches up to 700 meters in length, up to 200 in width, and a depth of about 12 meters. Halahel is located at an altitude of 2754 meters above sea level. Around this alpine lake in the basin of the central part of the plateau, the expedition discovered four more lakes. They flow into the river Baaraor (red river). The westernmost of them, because of the bizarre islands overgrown with sedge, was called "Hieroglyph".
